Finnish sailors striking according to the Dutch newspaper Algemeen Handelsblad dated 29 August 1938

An item reported that the union of the Finnish seamen decided with almost all votes to started striking on 1 September on board of the Finnish ships involved in the trade shipping abroad. Three thousand sailors were striking while the employers refused to pay more or recognize the 8 hours working day.
