French torpedo boat Audacieux lost after collision according to the Dutch newspaper Rotterdamsch nieuwsblad dated 8 September 1896

An item reported that the lieutenant Testot-Terry which was blamed for the loss of the torpedo boat Audacieux during the collision with the torpedo boat Chevalier in the night of 9-10 July was by the sea court martial at Toulon acquitted.(1)

Note
1.  The edition dated 13 July published an item reporting that the French torpedo boat Chevalier collided in the Corsican waters with the torpedo boat Andacieux which latter boat immediately sunk. Her crew was saved by the vessel which towed the Chevalier back to Ajaccio.
