Greek torpedo boat Kanaris seized Austrian steamship Minerva according to the Dutch newspaper Algemeen Handelsblad dated 20 May 1897

An item dated Athens 19 May reported that the Greek torpedo boat Kanaris captured in the Bay of Volo the Lloyds steamer Minerva with on board 72 Turkish soldiers and brought her Skyathos. At London was a telegram from the Lloyds agent at Athens received reporting that she was an Austrian mail boat underway from Constantinople towards Volo and brought to Orei.
