Italian navy tug Tesco lost according to the Dutch newspaper De Tijd dated 14 December 1931

An item dated Rome 14 December reported that the ship which sunk in the Tyrrhenian Sea was not a tug but the tender Tesco (1)of the Italian navy, the former Austrian auxiliary ship Hercules. She sunk near the island Tavolara not far from Sardinia. Of the 140 men on board were 110 saved.

1. Built in 1910 was she in 1920 transferred to Italy. In Italian service was she used as tug and as salvage vessel. With a displacement of 1.500 tons were her dimensions 210 x 33¾ x 13 feet. The armament consisted of 1-3” anti aircraft gun. The engines and Yarrow boilers supplied 2.500 hp (projected) while driving two screws allowed a speed of 10 knots. Her crew numbered 81 men. Her name was also written as Herkules.
