Neutral merchant ships lying in British control bases according to the Dutch newspaper Leeuwarder courant dated 25 January 1940

An item referred to the British department of economic warfare that on 23 January in the three so-called control bases in the United Kingdom 35 neutral ships were lying of which 25 ships five days or less accused of transporting forbidden stores. Among these ships were 19 Dutch, 4 Norwegian, 3 Belgian, 3 Finnish, 2 Swedish and 2 Danish ships.
