Russian torpedo boat Leitenant Pushhchin lost according to the Dutch newspaper Algemeen Handelsblad dated 13 March 1916

An item dated Petrograd 12 March reported that on the 9th two Russian torpedo boats on reconnaissance near Warna were attacked by submarines of the enemy. The torpedo boat Luitenant Poestsjin was blown up. A part of her crew was saved by the second torpedo boat.(1)

Conway’s All the World’s fighting ships 1906-1921 calls her Leitenant Pushchin, destroyer of the Z-Zh-class and which was lost while striking on 10 March 1916 a mine off Varna. She was the former Zadorni launched in November 1904 and renamed on 8 April 1907.
