Dutch coaster (ex-Batavier VII, Forto, Quiet Waters I) Forto 1927-1970



Built in 1927 as the Dutch Batavier VII at the shipyard of J. Koster Hzn. At Groningen for Wm.H. Müller&Co‘s Erts- en Scheepvaartbedrijf at Rotterdam. Owned by Roelof Pilon of Appingedam and managed by Maritima Scheepvaart- & Handel Mij. At Delfzijl and used since the sixties as the Forto for the transport of lime until 1970 when she was to Belgium. There she was renamed Quiet Waters I and used for sport fishermen out of Oostende. Total loading capacity with bunkers (total permanent bunkers 14 tons) summer level 520 tons of 1.016 kg. Capacity 433 gross and 217 net tons of 2,83 cubic metres or 100 cubic feet. Cargo capacity 27.070 cubic feet or 25.790 bales cubic feet. International sign NGRJ.
