West Germany building submarines for Argentina according to the Dutch newspaper Het vrije volk dated 22 March 1969

An item reported that West Germany intended to built two submarines for Argentina each 200 tons larger as allowed by the agreement between West Germany and the allies. This could influenced the limited permission the German arms industry as recorded in the treaty of Brussels of 1953. However the treaty did not made clear that West Germany was not allowed to built submarines in parts. It was feared that in this manner Germany could again participate in the international arms market.
