Dutch shipyard Rotterdamsche Droogdokmaatschappij interested in building submarines for Australia according to the Dutch newspaper Leeuwarder courant dated 21 May 1985

An item reported that the Rotterdamsche Droogdok Maatschappij did not obtain the Australian order for building six submarines of the Dutch Walrus-class design. Despite that it seemed she was making a good chance, was the order given to German and Swedish firms. In totally were tenders sent in by seven firms.
