Italy lost 84 submarines since outbreak of war according to the Dutch newspaper Amigoe di Curacao dated 26 October 1943

An item referred to a broadcast of radio Berlin reporting that since the outbreak of the Second World War 84 Italian submarines were destroyed taking with them their crews.
