West German shipyards building torpedo boats and landing craft for Turkey according to the Dutch newspaper Friese Koerier dated 18 January 1967

An item referred to a statement of an authorized Greek Cypriot spokesman who claimed that a large number of landing craft and torpedo boats were secretly built by two West German shipyards for Turkey. The order was given via a Norwegian firm at Oslo and some vessels were already delivered.{1}

1. Between the Republic of Cyprus and Turkey was a conflict going on dealing with thr ights of the Turkish Cypriots resulting that the northern part of the island in 1974 was occupied by the latter country. On 28 December proclaimed the Turkish Cypriots their own provisional administration.
