Austria adding more scouts to her navy according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad 1915-1916 no. 2

An item reported that the new Austrian scouts Helgoland and Novara had a displacement of 3.500 ton, an armament of 9-10cm guns, a speed of 27 miles and an armour consisting of 6cm thick belt and a 2cm thick deck.(1) In the meantime were they start to execute their trials. A second division of four scouts were to be laid down as a response to the Italian Mirabello’s. They would have a displacement of 5.000 ton, a speed of 29 miles and an armament of 15cm guns.

In fact were this light cruisers of the Novara-class although also know as the Helgoland-class or Rapidkreuzer consisting of the Saida (launched on 26 October 1912, completed on 1 August 1914), the Helgoland (launched on 23 November 1912, completed on 29 August 1914) and the Novara (launched on 15 February 1913 and completed on 10 January 1915).
