British destroyer HMS Eden experimenting with screws according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1907-1908 no. 4

An item referred to the magazine Mitteilungen a.d. G.des Seewesens reporting that the British turbine destroyer HMS Eden was to be experimentally fitted out with three large screws fitted to three shafts in place of the six small screws as it was believed the speed would increae in this manner.(1)

Note
1. With a displacement of 555 tons and as main dimensions 220’x 23’ was she launched at Hawthorn on 14 March 1903 and sunk on 18 June 1916 when she in the Channel collided with the steamship France.
