An item referred to the foreign magazine Le Yacht dated 17 September reporting that the British admiralty was interested in designing a new kind of submarine able to dive faster and to be fitted out with a perfect periscope. Despite these plans intended the shipyard of Vickers and Maxim to built 8 new submarines of the improved Holland-design, the first seven with a length of 30,5 metres and one of a new model with a length of 36,58 metres.
