British submarine depot ship HMS Maidstone launched according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1912-1913 no. 5

An item reported that at the shipyard of Scotts Shipbuilding and Engineering at Greenock the submarine depot ship Maidstone (10 was launched with a displacement of 3.600 tons and engines delivering 2.800 hp allowing a speed of 14 miles. Her dimensions were 107 x 15 x circa5 metres. She was fitted out with equipment for lifting submarines. The already serving tenders Adamant (2) and Alecto (3) had a displacement of just 935 ton.

1. Her correct name was Maidstone, launched on 29 April 1912 and sold on 31 August 1929.
2. Depot ship Adamant launched at the shipyard of Camell Laird on 12 July 1911 and sold on 21 September 1932 to Rees at Llanelly.
3. Depot ship Alecto launched at the shipyard of Laird on 29 August 1911 and sold on 7 July 1949 and broken up.
