Building of American submarine Plunger stopped according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1899-1900 no. 7

An item reported that since more as a year the building at the submarine Plunger by the Columbian Iron Works at Baltimore was stopped. The government already paid 775.000 francs in advance but or the contract dealing with specifications like the speed had to be changed or the complete submarine was to be enlarged begin the work started again.
