An item referred to the magazine Le Yacht which reported that at St. Petersburg the Russian battleship Borodino was launched. With a displacement 13.600 ton of were her dimensions 121 x 23 x 7,9 metres. The belt armour was maximum 22,9cm, the redoubt was protected by 14cm thick armour and further more was an armoured deck of above 5cm and at the sides 7,5cm thick available. The twenty Belleville boilers supplied enough steam to develop 16.000 ihp allowing a speed of 18,5 miles during 12 hours. Standard coal bunker capacity was 1.250 tons. The armament consisted of 2x2-30.5cm guns placed in turrets protected by 25,4 and 28cm thick armour, 12-15,2cm guns of which 6 in turrets protected by 12,7cm thick armour along the sides, 20-7,6 cm guns, 20-47cm guns, 8’-3,7cm guns and 6 torpedo tubes of which 2 submerged.
