The newly built German torpedo boats according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1907-1908 no. 4
An item referred to the magazine Le Yacht reporting that the German torpedo boat G 137 was launched as last unit of the range G132-G137. Her displacement was 575 ton and like her sister ships were vital parts protected. The shipyard Vulkan at Stettin was to built the new range of 12-500 ton torpedo boats to be called V150-161. Except for the torpedo boats G 88-89, G 108-113 and G132-G137 which built at the German shipyard Germania and the ones to be built by Vulkan were all German torpedo boats built by Schichau. After the excellent performance of the 8,8cm gun bon board of the G 135 was ordered that all new torpedo boats would be fitted out with such a gun to be place aft while the standard armament of 2-5,2cm guns was maintained.
