An item reported that during a test performer by eight American battleships during 4,5 hours the medium maximum speed which was achieved was 17 miles with as top 17,8 miles. There were a lot of complaints dealing with the lacking of experienced sailors. Of the crew one of the battleships was 52% of the men not even 19 years old.
