The Swedish north coast defence according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1906-1907

An item referred to the magazine Mitteilungen a.d. G. des Seewesens reporting that the Swedish defence of her north coast was reorganized. The small coast defence ships were not sufficient for defending this coast lacking bays and islands before the coastline. In the future were fast armoured cruisers and destroyers stationed at Lulea, Sundsvall and Hernösand used for this task. It was reckoned that the ships were strong enough to delay the enemy before they got support from the Stockholm squadron. At Karlskrona were 4 torpedo boats being built and 2 torpedo boats 2nd class to be built. The gunboat Edda was converted into a minelayer and the Blenda into a repair ship. Further more was the building of motor boats intended.
