New building of German torpedo boats at Schichau according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1892-1893 no. 10

An item referred to the magazine Engineering reported that the German navy ordered the building of eight torpedo boats at Schichau to replace six aged ones. With a displacement of 140 ton were her dimensions 147’ x 18.5’. The horsepower of 1.500 ihp should allow a speed of 22 miles. 32 Tons coals were to be stored on both sides of the boiler and engine was the protection against shells.
