An item referred to the magazine Le Yacht reporting that the Russian battleship Twaalf Apostelen [Dutch translation of her name] with a displacement of 8.118 tons achieved a speed of 15,5 miles during a six hours trial.(1) When the weather became worse was with 8.000 ihp a speed of 16,6 miles achieved. Lacking good quality coal and not to force the draught extremely was not tried the designed horsepower of 8500 hp and a speed of 17 miles to achieve. The machines were manufactured by the Société de la Baltique at St. Petersburg.
