Russian navy wanted new colliers according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1899-1900 no. 9

An item reported that the Russian navy was interested in building special colliers which were able to load coal at sea and further more to fit out harbours with facilities for faster coal loading. The Temperl[e]y coal transporter which performed very well near the Channel draw particularly the attention.(1)
