Dutch warship Waterhond at Veere assisted in extinguishing a fire in a house in Veere according to the Dutch newspaper Rotterdamse courant dated 15 May 1806

An item dated Flushing the 8th referred to a rapport written by captain lieutenant Wardenburg (who commanded a division vessels stationed at Veere) for rear admiral Lemmers (1), commanding officer and chief of the Batavian navy in Zeeland. He wrote his on 6 May while on board of the Waterhond that in the afternoon of the 5th his crew supported in extinguishing a fire in a house preventing that it spread around.

1. Nicolaas Lemmers (1759/1760-21 January 1822 Amsterdam, Netherlands), served also in the Royal Netherlands navy after 1815 in the rank of rear admiral and became even director general of the navy at Amsterdam.
