British government seized German steamship Hocking according to the Dutch newspaper Rotterdamsch nieuwsblad dated 6 November 1915

An item dated London the 4th reported that the British government stopped the steamship Hocking bringing to into Halifax accused of being German property.  She was the former Gronland, built in 1895, measuring 2.554 tons and according to Lloyds Norwegian property. It was now claimed that she was an American ship.
