An item dated San Diego 18th September reported the arrival of the steamship Manchuria reporting that she since the 14th was harassed by geavy weather. Off the Gulf of California she received a tiding from the American steam tanker Huguenot reporting that she suffered badly by the storm losing some life boats. She departed the 9th San Pedro towards Amsterdam. The Manchuria however did not sighted the Huguenot.
