Dutch shipyards building for the Soviet Union according to the Dutch newspaper Het Vrije Volk dated 10 July 1948

An item reported that Dutch shipyards would built 3 cargo vessels ice strengthened with a capacity of 5.000 ton and a number of tankers and reefers for frozen fish for account  of the Soviet Union. The latter to be delivered within 3-5 years.(1) Further more was within 5 year a completely fitted out (including cooling machines) whaling mother ship of 22.500 tons and a whale hunter to be delivered.

1. The Kon. Mij. De Schelde delivered several ships in the fifties and sixties starting with the ice strengthened cargo ships Lena, Yenisei and the Ob launched in 1954.
