German shipping company A.C. de Freitas&Co. ative on line Hamburg-South Brasil according to the Dutch newspaper Algemeen Handelsblad dated 21 December 1893

An item reported that the shipping company A.C. de Freitas&Co. bought the British steamship Ortyga built in 1892 to serve on her line Hamburg-South Brazil. Carrying capacity around 3.000 and a relative very small draught. As the Etruria started she on 30 December with her first voyage.
