An item reported that
the Italian shipping company Societa Italiana di Navigazione (Transoeceanica)
was founded with a share capital of 100 million lire (Pierce Line and Sicula
Americanae Line together 50% and the Italio and Navigasione General Italiana
the other 50%. The capital consisted of 20 million of ships and 80 million of
cash. The fleet of the new company consisted of 13 ships.
