Italian shipping company Societa Italiana di Navigazione (Transoeceanica) founded according to the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf dated 14 August 1917

An item reported that the Italian shipping company Societa Italiana di Navigazione (Transoeceanica) was founded with a share capital of 100 million lire (Pierce Line and Sicula Americanae Line together 50% and the Italio and Navigasione General Italiana the other 50%. The capital consisted of 20 million of ships and 80 million of cash. The fleet of the new company consisted of 13 ships.
