The American newspaper United Press from Washington reported that the admiralty planned naval manoeuvres in 1935 off the coast of Alaska. This was to be done as a result of her policy to make the navy familiar with the defence of separate coastal areas. The admiralty was also investigating the possibility to found a naval base in Dutch Harbour at the opposite side of the Aleutian islands.
