The Algerian and Turkish navies in the Archipelago according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 30 April 1823

Constantinople, 24 March. There had been some troubles with the pressed sailors of the fleet and by Turkish who lost everything at the latest fire. The Algerian squadron left all ready for the Archipelago to be followed within some days by the Captain pasha. The fleet commanded by the latter was to exist only of smaller vessels with a frigate as his flagship. This was the latest experiment (smaller instead of large ships) of the Porte against the brave Greek sailors.
