The Egyptian and Greek navies in the Mediterranean according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 5 May 1823

Augsburg, 27 April. The newspaper Allgemeine Zeitung published a news item dated Corfu 31 March according to which the Greek navy attacked and shattered 22 March near Candia a convoy arms and war stores sent by the Pasha of Egypt to the Turkish. The convoy consisted of 19 transports escorted by a frigate and 2 brigs. The frigate was shot down and the Greeks captured both brigs and 9 transports and pursued severely the remaining transports.
