An item reported that the
British cable ship Patrol owned by the Eastern Extension Company arrived at Surabaya
for coal-hold. She came from Fremantle where she had repaired a deep sea cable
and was now heading for Singapore.(1)

13 February reporting that the Dutch steamship Van der Parra of the Koninklijke
Paketvaartmaatschappij collided the Saturday before at midnight with a cable
ship named Patrol.
