Cadiz, 9 August. According to the extra ordinary correspondence published in the newspaper le Journal des Débats left the Spanish expedition for Havana, Cuba yesterday to take at Ferrol, Spain the troops on board. The convoy of 8 transports was escorted by the frigate la Perla and the brig Yazon. The transports had to transport soldiers and a large amount of stores.
Paris, 26 August. According to the French newspaper l’Etoile consisted the French navy in 1823 of 14-120 gun ships, 22-80 gun ships, 27-74 gun ships, 46 frigates of 44-60 guns, 110 corvettes, brigs and other small vessels totally 218 armed ships and vessels included 62 ships of the line and 46 frigates. The British navy had then 109 ships of the line in service or in the harbours with another 18 on stocks and104 frigates (included the 30-gun frigates).
