See also for ships and vessels of the Dutch East India Company between 1720-1736 arrived in the Dutch East Indies according to a list dated around 1738 published in several parts on this web log. A thunderstorm smashed the boats of the Ritthem and the Papenburg on the coast. The mast of the Buis was provisionally repaired, the foremast of the Valkenisse strengthened and 30 healthy sailors embarked. The latter ship lost 135 men while sailing towards the Cape. By lacking enough sailors were 18 condemned of which the banishment nearly was finished, placed on board of the Krooswijk and the Noordwaddinxveen. It was found that 20% of the 735 lb ivory on board of the Magdalena was lacking and 325 of the 412 lb on board of the Leiden.
