Egyptian ship of the line burnt at Alexandria according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 28 June 1838

Tidings from Alexandria dated 26 May reported that 5 days earlier one of the most beautiful ships of the Pasha a 100-gun frigate (?) was burnt. She was 4 months earlier launched and just being fitted out with the upper batteries when in the night of 20-21 May at several places fire was set and within some hours the ships was completely destroyed. Lucky enough there was no gunpowder on board and no wind. It is thought that the fire was deliberately set by the Turkish.
