French naval preparations for Baltic expedition according to the Dutch newspaper Zierikzeesche Courant dated 12 January 1856

An item reported that in the harbour of Cherbourg orders were received to fit out two screw steam ships and three sailing frigates to be ready before the start of the expedition in the Baltic in April. The transport Yonne of 1,200 tons was also to be fitted out. The five bombs and twelve steam gunboats which returned recently from the Baltic were also to be fitted out and again to serve in the coming expedition.
