The shipwrecking of the Spanish merchant brig S. Luiz alias el Pronto according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 22 September 1838

The Hague, 20 September. From Vlieland, Netherlands arrived tidings dated 17 September that that morning around 04.00 o'clock in the middle of the Wetersche Horst near the outer banks the Spanish brig S. Luiz alias el Pronto master Pedro Fereiros coming from Rifa and destined towards Vigos, Pontevedra and Carril was stranded. She was loaded with a cargo of flax of which just 20 wagons were salvaged. The ship was crushed but her crew of 13 men managed to escape by their selves although the lifeboats all ready departed towards them.
