The Greek and Turkish navies in the Mediterranean according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 7 April 1823

Livorno, 23 March. Letters of Smyrna reported a small Turkish fleet coming from Gallipoli coming in the waters off Tenedos to protect the coasts of Little Asia. The Greeks flotillas in the waters were strengthened by some fire ships and a battle was to be expected. In all Greeks harbours preparations were made and a strong Greek division coming from Hydra was assembled in the harbour of Napoli-di-Romania probably for an attack.
