The Russian naval strength in 1828 according to the Dutch newspaper Algemeen Handelsblad dated 14 November 1829

A news item reported that in begin 1828 the Russian navy consisted of 50 ships of the line, 35 frigates and more as 100 other large ships and further more floating batteries, gunboats, galliots and so on, manned with totally more as 50.000 sailors. The navy was in the past years considerable increased. Another newspaper called Dagblad van ‘s Gravenhage dated 18 November confirmed these details.
