A [Colombian?] privateer active off Yvica according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 19 November 1824

Paris, 14 November. A Spanish ship coming from Majorca was off Yvica hold up by a brig armed with 8-12pdr and 100 men, all coloured people with the French flag hoisted. The Spanish crew and stores were taken on board of the brig and the ship sunk. Four days later was the Spanish crew and 2 French prisoners at Cala Carreda set on land. The two Frenchmen were taken prisoner by the prisoner off the Canary Islands while on board of a Spanish brig coming going from Guayaguil towards Bilbao.
