The Greek and the Turkish navies in the Mediterranean according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 17 November 1824

Paris, 13 November. According to letters from Constantinople dated 12 October announced the Turkish government officially that the Greek fleet burnt 30 transports, 2 frigates and 5 goelettes, corvettes or brigs. Nothing was said about how many ships were captured just that the Captain Pasha was very lucky in escaping just because the Greeks thought that he was on board one of the burned frigates. The 30 transports were all Turkish and the enlisted Europeans hadn’t been present at the battle.
