Danish merchant ship escaped through a list from a Spanish privateer according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 25 August 1823

According to tidings from Ellsinore, Denmark arrived the week before there a vessel belonging to a merchant of Aalsborg or Aarhuus. It was captured in Spanish waters by a Spanish privateer but through a list succeeded the master and three Danish sailors part of her crew to lock up the Spanish commander and his men in the cabin and sailed she safely towards Copenhagen in stead of Algeziras.
