According
to the sea tidings from Amsterdam reported the so-called commandeur of a
Greenlander whaler which left the ice 23 June and arrived at Gluckstadt 9 July
that at his departure the Dutch Greenland whalers of Harlingen the Spitsbergen
master H. Rikmeester catches 2 whales and 600 seals and the Dirkje Adama master
J. Rikmers 2 whales and 130 seals. Another Greenland whaler who arrived at
Peterhead reported that when he left the ice 16 June one Dutch Greenland whaler
was full loaded with blubber.
