Limitation of the American naval strength according tot the Dutch newspaper Het Vaderland: staat- en letterkundig nieuwsblad evening edition dated 5 July 1921

A senator member of the navy commission wrote in the American magazine New Republic that considered the American naval program of 1916 the United States would agree with a world wide limitation of the naval powers with 25 or 40% without fearing for the national defence. While the other powers also were limited nothing changed in fact and the United States navy would be as strong as all the other navies.
