The Austrian, British and French navies in the Mediterranean according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 1 June 1826

Smyrna, 20 April. The French rear admiral de Rigny blockaded, according to rumours, Hydra to force the inhabitants to satisfy for their plundering of French ships. The British commodore Hamilton departed from here to Ipsara to punish the pirates which swindled some crewmembers of the war brig HMS Alacrity. The commanding officer of the Austrian navy intended to depart with the same purpose.
