The British naval attack at Algiers according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 24 August 1824

Trieste, 4 August. According to tidings gave the British admiral Neale of the squadron that sailed from Malta and blockaded Algiers just one bomb order to open fire and within some hours were due to the security of the gunfire all new defence works destroyed. The Dey opened negotiations fearing that his whole city would be destroyed and the treaty was signed the 22 July.
