Seal hunting on the Dutch mud floats according to the Dutch newspaper Leeuwarder courant dated 7 October 1898

An item referred to tidings received from Westernieland, Netherlands reporting that the seal hunting by two blazers using nests on the mudflats was quite successful. Master T. Visser active with the little blazer between the islands Rottum and Schiermonnikoog had a catch of around 40 seals while his son Jakob Visser which was active with the large blazer between Schiermonnikoog and Texel even catches more as 160 seals.
