Greek privateers active in the Levant according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 1 January 1822

Livorno, 10 December. A Neapolitan brigantine, which arrived here coming from Cyprus, was underway plundered by a Greek privateer and robbed of stores with a value of 60.000 piasters. In the end of October 1821 appeared at Limasol, Cyprus an armed vessel of Hydra which landed troops which plundered several village. They captured an Egyptian vessel, which was plundered, and the crew hanged up. The Greek left for the Archipelago.
