Gunboat and two merchant ships lost due to stormy weather off Dunkirk according to the Dutch newspapers Bossche vaderlandsche courant dated 21 November 1800

An item dated Dunkirk the 10th reported that during a heavy storm the day before an American ship loaded with 700 barrels of tobacco and a neutral ship loaded with salt lying on the roads were probably with all men on board regarded the found wreckage. A gunboat was smashed on the beach causing the lives of her second captain and two sailors. Another gunboat was saved by her anchors.
